For IT and CSE I must say Bangalore is best but when it comes to mechanical engineering both the cities have same scope for placement and job preferences. Just think of a good college in Bangalore or in Bhubaneswar.

As an engineering graduate I don't want to suppress your dream but engineering career is money making process for private colleges. If you really want to go in the field of engineering then try for IIT and AIEEE. In my opinion you shall take admission for B.Sc and prepare for government exams and if you are interested in private jobs then pursue B.Sc and job oriented course.

Yes, PESIT is a huge university in Bangalore with various courses around it. It one of the best place for education and to learn from the best people.

However, Giani Zail Singh College is a better option than Sinhgad, Pune.

Mechanical is a better branch than electrical in terms of opportunities and placements. If you don't have any special interest in any of these go with mechanical.
