Hello,
Mechatronics is not purely electronics or instrumentation. This involves both the streams mechanical and electronics. No doubt this will be useful for robotics. But keep in mind you have to clear all the basic concepts of mechanical and electronics in this field. Good luck.

Hi, it is difficult to evaluate chances by the mere percentage. 72% marks is good, but a higher percentage would have increased your prospects. Having said that, you also have work experience which will add value. The nature of your work, projects, innovative work, seminars, international projects, certifications, publications, patents and any work to demonstrate your research and innovative skills will be beneficial. Recommendation letters and a very strong personal statement are also a must. Give your best shot at the application.

Both the fields are different from each other and very good for job perspective. While pursuing aeronautical engineering, you can get a job in ISRO, DRDO or even in NASA, if you will do hard work and extra effort and many other job fields are also there. Pursuing mechatronics engineering is also very good choice and have many options for jobs at private as well as government sector. You have to choose on your own. So you must do well if you want to opt any one of this course and achieve the best.
