Mechatronics is a field of engineering that includes study with a combination of various engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, control and computer engineering.
Not in india but globally Mechatronics is growing very fast and right now every systems is made of Electromechanical systems with computer Science and programming like PLC, HMI, Microcontroller, CNC, Robotics systems.

In India mechatronics is not a good field to make career but there is a huge demand of mechatronics engineers with good knowledge in Germany, USA, UK and Russia. Even the company which manufactures the medical machinery needs the mechatronics engineer. Mechanical engineering also provides the same opportunities but mechatronics engineering is growing nowadays.

After completing M.Tech (mechatronics), you can find opportunities primarily in electronics industry. You can also work in fields like automobile, manufacturing, gas and oil, mining, transport, defence, robotics, aerospace and aviation.
You may find opportunities in the Army, the Navy and the Air force and organisations like the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Mechanical engineering is best in B.Tech if you want to do aeronautical then you can go for mechanical for Bachelors and then aeronautical in Masters. You will have both the degree with two different courses.

Hi Karan, you have really good chances to get mechatronics engineering at the main campus of SRM university with a rank of 30800.
The general fee structure is Rs 2,50,000 per annum but there are fee concessions based on various norms
