You don't get an immediate admission to the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) in the MBBS course. The admissions to MBBS courses are done based on the NEET-UG (pronounced NEET for undergraduate courses) score. There is no provision for direct admission.
For admission into Postgraduate (MD/MS) courses, one should qualify in NEET-PG and go through counseling.
MBBS or MD/MS direct admissions at IPGMER strictly follow the centralized entrance examination system (NEET-UG and NEET-PG) without exception.

The steps toward getting an entry in the MBBS programme at the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) are as mentioned below:
Eligibility :-
- A person must pass 10+2 from a recognised institution, with the first three subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- The candidate has to appear for NEET-UG exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses).
Qualify NEET-UG:
You should qualify for the NEET-UG with a competitive rank. Admission for MBBS is done on the basis of NEET-UG scores in IPGMER.

The Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) does not grant a full scholarship to earn an MBBS or MD/MS in postgraduate medical courses. Students may obtain government-sponsored scholarships based on merit, financial need, or social category (SC/ST).
