I like the appreciation of extracurricular activities.
Placements: Internship period of 12 months where you will be given rupees 25000 per month during your internship period. You can learn all the basics of dentistry, and you are allowed to attend public camps regarding dental health programs conducted by the college itself. They offer an internship in my college hospital itself. It has so many allied institutions like Regional Institute of Ophthalmology RIO, Institute of Mental Health IMH, etc. They offer an internship there at CRRI.
Infrastructure: There will be inter-college sports meet and inter-college cultural meet, and they will also allow you for intra-college completion. There is sports coordinator here who will genuinely guide you and appreciate you. Every year, there will be sports GDC events in which all batches from final year to first year will participate and medals and an honor certificate will be given to all those winners on Republic Day. There will be interesting college and cultural events.

Girls-boys ratio is nearly 7:3. Hostel is available for both girls and boys.
Placements: There is no stipend provided for this course. We have visited so many institutions like Kilpauk, Apollo, Egmore, etc. They conduct research for the students in the hospital according to their subjects. Internship is compulsory in the same college for 1 year salary will be provided by the institution itself. In every department, there is particular time period to work and we need to complete that to graduate.
Infrastructure: Actually, every book that is needed for the course is plenty in the library including journals, magazines, and so on. Classes will be held only by the projector technique. Sometimes it will be with visual, audio, and audio-visual aids. Mostly there is no extra care in sports but competitions will be held.
Faculty: Nearly 5-6 faculty members are present for every department. They are approachable at any time. They will clarify the doubt at any time. Exams vary according to the year. There are 3 to 8 papers and 3 to 4 students fail in a year. Course is much relevant, and counseling will be conducted where we can select college according to our marks.
Other: Every religious festival is celebrated in the college with students properly.

I am satisfied with faculty members, placements, etc.
Placements: Government Medical College does not offer placements. Mostly students get work as a surgeon intern and are posted in government hospital. Top recruiting companies/hospitals like private hospitals, government hospitals, ortho implant companies, etc. Top roles are offered like orthopaedic surgeon, trauma surgeon, spine surgeon, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are one of the oldest and most prestigious government medical colleges. Campus is well organised and located in Chennai near Park Town. Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, and well-stocked library are available on campus. Quality of food is hygienic. Hostels for girls and boys are separate.
Faculty: Teachers have many years of experience in teaching. They are one of the most reputed professors. Many are alumni of M.M.C., active in research, and regularly present at national conferences. M.M.C. follows the guidelines of NMC and Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Semester exams are little tough, and both exams (internal and external) have different passing marks.

I am satisfied with our college and faculty members.
Placements: We know that all government medical colleges have no placements. But students can easily work in a surgeon's post, or get admission to PG. They will also have good career opportunities. Top roles offered in this course are professors, clinical researchers, pharmaceutical industry, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are a good mix of historical and modern era. It is the oldest college in India. On campus, we have Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms. Library is well stocked with thousands of books. Quality of the food is average, and hostels are available near main campus. Hostels are separate for boys and girls.
Faculty: Faculty members are the most experienced and respected. Most of them are leaders in their field. Teachers are knowledgeable and approachable, and they also guide research projects and publish them nationally. Semester exams are a little tough and they have to get 30% in every subject.

Good placement with decent infrastructure, but food average.
Placements: In our course, almost 80% of students got placed. Most of them join government hospital for a job. The package does not matter much in MBBS, but some got 12 LPA in a private hospital. The average is near 8 LPA. All students got internships, mostly in a government hospital. Some companies like Apollo, Fortis, and SRM also come for hiring. The roles are like junior doctor, president, and medical officer.
Infrastructure: Our pharmacy department has a good lab and all the equipment also. Classrooms have fans, lights, and a projector, which sometimes do not work. Wi-Fi is available, but mostly slow. The library is big and has books, but not all of them are new ones. The hostel is of an okay type, and the room is a little small. Mess food is not so tasty, but it's okay to eat. The canteen has limited items. A medical facility is there, but sometimes the doctor is not available. The sports ground is also there, but not all the game stuff is available.
Faculty: Teachers are good and have knowledge, but some teachers do not explain well. Few teachers are very helpful and clear doubts anytime. The course is okay, some parts are useful for an industry job, but not all. The exam is not very hard if you study regularly. The passing percentage is around 85% or something like that.
Other: Course is good, but it needs more practical, and fests are also not conducted.

Q:   What impact does the number of available seats have on NEET 2024 cut-offs?
A:

A significant number of applicants compete for a limited number of seats in government medical colleges under the All India quota based on NEET exam, making admission extremely competitive.

For General AI category, the cutoffs are substantially higher than the cutoff for other All India quota seats. A considerably higher score—often in the range of 650–700 or more out of 720—is typically needed to be eligible for a place in a government medical college through the All India quota.

A candidate who scores only 2–4 marks above the cutoff is likely to enter a highly competitive zone where their prospects of getting an All India quota seat are unpredictable and dependent on a number of variables, including the distribution of their overall score and the number of seats available.

The number of candidates taking the NEET exam has a direct effect on the cut-off as well. A big candidate pool raises the level of competition and could result in higher cutoffs. The cut-off scores are impacted by the number of seats available in medical colleges.
