You are eligible to seek admission in any Branch of B.Tech lateral entry in second year of Engineering. However, it is recommended that you do B.Tech Mechanical or Metallurgical or Material Science which are aligned to your earlier educational qualifications.

The Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, earlier Metallurgical Engineering at PEC University of Technology Chandigarh is a very old department and was established in 1963. B.Tech programme in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering is the most accepted programme in Industrial Materials and Metallurgy field in India. Its graduates are doing very well in various Industries in India and abroad. It is an excellent choice if you are interested in the subject.

Almost all the engineering colleges offer this facility. But normally, it's limited to the domicile of that particular state. There is a department of technical education in each state which controls the process. It is advised to get the details from your state's department.
