Renowned companies like Schneider electric recruit the students for the internship as well as pre-placement offer. The branch has an average package of about 5-6 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure : It has the second the largest campus area in India, and infrastructure is the beauty of this college. The institute has cricket ground, football ground, volleyball courts, an indoor hall for badminton, swimming pool, basketball courts, and court for lawn tennis are available for the students.
Faculty : The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable with apt knowledge of the theoretical and practical application and have high experience. Starting from infrastructure to hostel facility all the facilities are very good. The placements here are good. The companies come and accept the students with good packages. For admissions to NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs, candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective board. For SC/ ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class XII.
As you got good rank, and your 12th mark is just 1% less, if your luck favors you can surely get admission.
Other than that the opening rank for getting admission into NIT in biotechnology for SC candidates is 3594 and the closing rank is 4844. There is a chance of getting into NIT, Rourkela.

The probability of getting the admission in NIT Rourkela is quite less. If your luck favors then you can surely get into NIT Rourkela. Both NIT Agartala and NIT Rourkela are good. In case of CSE in NIT Agartala, Placements: Placement is not very much impressive. Because of its remote location few companies are willing to visit for campus placements. Placement for CSE branch is comparatively good. 90% of the job offers come from IT sector. Placement for non CSE branches are not good. Generally 2u20133 IT service based companies (like Infosys, IBM, Wipro, Tech Mahindra etc. ). Visit for mass campus drives. They hire like 70u2013150 people in a slot. Then some product based IT companies (like Samsung, Oracle, information edge etc. ). Also come. They hire like 2u20137 people in a slot. Then there are some other non IT companies like MuSigma, L&T, Kirlosker, Vedanta etc. Also come. PSUs also pay visit as well at the very end of the placement session. Overall placement for CSE is better. To get a good job you need to be in top layer of your branch. Its actually not so easy to get a job from NITA. It has some of the best faculty members and infrastructure on campus. The department recently underwent a massive renovation and up-gradation providing it with infrastructure and logistics at par with international establishments. Placements are similar to other branches of NIT Rourkela. A lot of students undertake higher studies, in India and abroad, in fields such as Materials, Processing, Nanotechnology, Extraction etc. The faculty of Chemical Engineering department deserve particular praise for churning out students who have regularly been chosen for prestigious international internships such as DAAD - Germany, MITACS Globalink - Canada etc. The Chemical Engineering Department also received the highest accreditation from NAAC which was renewed when NBA visited NIT Rourkela last year. Honestly, it seems quite difficult for getting into IITs, but you can surely get admission in other reputed institutes. As per the past records, for NIT Rourkela also, there is good chance as the closing rank for general candidates of Biotechnology engineering is around 28407. Biotechnology engineering is a new branch and is growing widely in these few years. It has gained importance in the past few years and its placement statistics has also grown to a wide range.I would like to add that, if you want to join Biotechnology. NIT Rourkela is the best among all NITs.

And, lot more. I think there is not a Mining company in the Country which don't come to NITR. So, you got a lots of choices. And training in Mining fields will also be given to you. Because, the real knowledge is in Mines in the field, not in the book. The opening rank for getting admission in NITR in mining engineering for SC candidates is 1848 and closing rank is 4817, for other states. And, for home state the opening rank is 3467 and closing rank is 6308. So, it may be a bit difficult for getting admission, if you do not belong to home state, but do not loose hope, if your luck favors, you can definitely get admission in NITR. IIEST Shibpur Mechanical is ranked at 7th above IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU and BITS Pilani by Edu-Rand a Highly Reputed Indo - American Ranking organization. MHRD / NIRF Ranked IIEST at 7th by Research Parameter At Par with IIT Roorkee - just after six old IITs, but above all other IITs and above all the NITs in the Country. Overall, IIEST Ranked at 20 by MHRD / NIRF above many IITs and Above All NITs except three. Mechanical Engineering in IIEST Shibpur is surely one of the Best Departments in India and definitely better than NIT Allahabad or NIT Culicut by any measure. IIEST has Glorious Record of Producing Brilliant Engineers serving across the Globe and many of them are World Leaders in Engineering in USA / UK / Canada as well as in India. The placement of the mechanical branch is quite good at NIT Rourkela.
