Sorry for answering this so late. The placement statistics are quite impressive here. Around 8 students got placed in Google MTV with a package of around 1.25 cr. Also many people get placed in Epic Systems, Goldman Sachs etc.

No, you can not, according to NSIT policy your branch only changes with respect to JEE mains rank and not your performance in that particular year which happens in IITs. your branch can change till end of first semester if someone leaves college and a seat becomes vacant according to JEE mains rank.

No you can not, anybody who takes NSIT, has to attend college irrespective where one lives. if you live far away you can easily get hostel which is cheap and pretty good and easily available. best of luck.

Anything in NSIT is better than IPU, if only thing you are looking for is placement. All the major companies of mechanical visit NSIT. But if you are interested only in computers than go for MAIT. if you do well you can always land an off campus placement. for comprehensive placement details visit http://www.nsit.ac.in/placement/

Both CSE and ECE are good branches with similar opportunities. ECE is core branch of engineering and you can work in Electronics, Telecommunications and IT industry. Therefore, in order to have wider choices to opt after 4 years, I will recommend NSIT ECE over IIIT CSE.
