No, not every programme is offered in July. Core degrees in Business and Engineering are widely available. Some specialised health or research courses may only have a February start. You must check the specific course availability on the university website before applying.

It depends entirely on your academic schedule. February is the primary intake with the most course options, but the July intake in New Zealand is perfect for Indian students finishing exams in May who wish to avoid a gap year. Both intakes offer the same quality of education.

Deadlines usually fall between April and May. Popular universities like University of Auckland may close specific competitive courses earlier if seats fill up. It is strictly recommended to apply at least three months earlier. 1st week of March is right time for this.

Expenses in NZ can vary depending on your lifestyle. Tuition fee is a major part. You need to plan for rent and food. Keep INR 88,521 per month to cover the monthly cost of living in NZ. This amount does not include accommodation rent.

You can apply for fully funded scholarships. It can cover all your expenses while studying in NZ in 2026.

Yes, Indian students with a valid student visa can work up to 25 hours per week during studies. Earlier it was just 20 hours. From November 3, 2025, New Zealand increased work rights for international students.

No, typically education is not free for Indian students. You must pay full international tuition fees. However, you can study at essentially zero cost by securing fully funded scholarships like the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship, which covers fees and living expenses.

Primary fully funded option is Manaaki New Zealand Government Scholarship. This covers full tuition, a living stipend, and airfare. Also, Indian students can apply for University-specific Ph.D. scholarships (like at Otago or Auckland), which often provide full funding for research candidates.
