Yes, NIT Calicut does provide reservation benefits to the Keralites through state quota during admission. A certain percentage of seats are kept reserved for students from Kerala as per the rules and regulations of the state government. This reservation policy is basically for local representation in the institution. For details on reservations and admission procedures, it is suggested that one checks the official website of NIT Calicut or calls them directly.

For SC category students at NIT Calicut, the tuition fee is fully waived, and they are required to pay only nominal charges, such as a one-time admission fee (around INR 1,200), semester fees for hostel services, and other administrative costs totaling approximately INR 5,000–7,000 per semester. These figures are consistent with the latest updates and might slightly vary across programs or due to institute-specific components.

With a 70% in CBSE 12th boards and a 60 in JEE Mains, your chances of getting a seat at NIT Calicut can be challenging but not impossible. NIT Calicut is highly competitive, and admission is primarily based on JEE Main scores.
For B.Tech programs, candidates with ranks between 1,400 and 39,000 in JEE Main have a chance, depending on the specialisation and seat availability. Your score of 60 in JEE Mains might place you in a lower rank range, but you can still explore options in state quota seats or private colleges.
