NIT Calicut - National Institute of Technology

NIT Calicut offers a two-year MSc course in three specialisations. The full-time PG course is offered in specialisations, including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Admission to all the specialisations is through IIT JAM followed by a counselling round. Aspirants further must meet the eligibility requirements for these courses.

As per unofficial sources, the total tuition fee of the five-year BArch course offered at NIT Calicut is INR 6.25 lakh. The hostel charges are up to INR 3.41 Lacs and a one-time fee payment of INR 31,500 is also required for admission. NIT Calicut considers the scores of JEE Main (Paper-II) for admission to the BArch course. No other entrance exam is accepted. Candidates shortlisted based on JEE paper-II score are further required to participate in CSAB counselling for the seat allotment process.

Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects is the basic eligibility for BArch at NIT Calicut. Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination from a recognised board. Moreover, aspirants must have the relevant documents as well as a proof of eligibility.

Aspirants wanting to take admission to the M.Tech course shall check the eligibility requirement. Eligible students further must take the GATE exam. Aspirants can apply for GATE online. Candidates who secure scores greater than or equal to the cutoff marks further need to take part in the CCMT counselling process for seat allotment.

BE/BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in a relevant branch of Engineering is the basic eligibility for M.Tech at NIT Calicut. SC/ST/PwD category candidates need a minimum of 55% aggregate to be eligible for the course. Candidates whose results are awaiting can also take the JEE Main exam. However, such students must have the class 12 pass certificate at the time of admission.

GATE CCMT Round 1 closing rank for M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 577, followed by M.Tech. in Microelectronics and VLSI Design with 575 score and finally by M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Information Security) with a 551 score.
