The departmental electives are divided into three categories in the NIT Patna integrated MSc in Chemistry curriculum. Each category has four subjects in it. Mentioned below are some of the departmental electives offered by the institute:

From the third semester, the course includes specialisation related subjects. Hence, NIT Patna integrated MSc (BSc + MSc) Physics curriculum include subjects around Physics in the second year of the course. The theory and lab subjects included in the third semester syllabus of the course are:

NIT Patna admit candidates to the BSc-MSc integrated courses based on merit in the JEE Main exam. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the entrance exam through NTA official website. The institute may release its separate application form as well for the course admission. Further, after conclusion of the application process, a merit/selection list is released based on which the seat allotment is done. NIT Patna BSc - MSc seat allotment is done based on merit in JEE Main score. The institute has a certain seat intake for each of the integrated BSc+MSc course. Candidates are admitted in the programme as per the seat count. The seat intake for NIT Patna integrated in Physics course is 12. This seat intake is as per the official website/sanctioning body. NIT Patna does not offer lone BSc programmes. The institute offer BSc + MSc integrated course in three specialisations, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. As per NIT Patna cutoff 2024, the Last Round closing rank for Integrated M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) has decreased compared to the previous year. The Last Round closing rank for General AI category students for Integrated M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) was 19527, while for the General Home State category students, the Last Round closing rank was 23853. For BTech CSE, the cutoff was 16697 which decreased to 18206 in 2024.
