NIT Patna reserve certain seats from the total seat count for reserved category candidates. The admission eligibility criteria is governed by the MHRD rules (based on grade score). Moreover, the institute has seat reservations for SC/ST/PH candidates. There are 15% seat reservations for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 3% for PH category candidates. The seat allotment process shall be carried out as per the reservation policy.

NIT Patna admit candidates to the BSc-MSc integrated courses based on merit in the JEE Main exam. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the entrance exam through NTA official website. The institute may release its separate application form as well for the course admission. Further, after conclusion of the application process, a merit/selection list is released based on which the seat allotment is done. Candidates following the seat allotment can pay the course fee for admission confirmation. For admission to the BSc + MSc integrated course offered by NIT Patna, aspirants must fulfil the eligibility requirements. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with at least 75% aggregate are eligible to apply.
