If you reside in Madhya Pradesh and getting GSITS, then you don't need to go to the northern extent of the country. NIT - Srinagar has a good rank but is almost similar to GSITS Indore only. Also, GSITS has a very nice curriculum, placements and academics. Also, it would be safer for you.

The major problem with CS/IT in NIT Srinagar is the abundance of unreliable, under qualified faculty members, most of whom have graduated and/or postgraduate from substandard colleges. So join ONLY if you are willing to submit to 4 years of self study because no matter how poor the quality of the classes is, the question papers are always of a high standard. Coming to infra, all you need for these branches is a well-equipped desktop and yes, NIT Srinagar has a lot of those but like I said, it all burns down to self study and you cannot rely on the teachers, not even in case of labs (especially not in case of labs). It depends on your score, if you get above 100 score in JEE Mains and percentile below 75, you will get admission in NITs, but you can't attend JEE advance, because it needs above 75% in class 12th. Or your category basis.
