With a JEE Mains rank of 101278, you can get admission to newer NITs like NIT Agartala, NIT Manipur, NIT Sikkim, or NIT Mizoram. However, you might get less popular branches like civil engineering or instrumentation. Your category (General, OBC, SC, ST) will also affect your chances. You can also look at state-level or private colleges with lower cut-offs. To decide, check last year's cut-offs on the JEE website, consider colleges near your home, and make smart choices during JoSAA counseling based on your rank and preferences.

When comparing two NITs- NIT Jamshedpur and NIT Raipur for the MSc course candidates can consider some of the broad parameters, like the rankings associated with the institute, tuition fees the course, types of speciaslaitions and seats offered by each institution, and its quality education and good facilities. However, these choice depends on candidates' priorities. Check out the below table comparing both of the institutions on these factors:
| Institute Name | Ranking NIRF 24' | Type of Specialisation | Seats | Shiksha Ratings |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NIT Jamshedpur | 101-150 (Engineering) | 3- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics | 112 | 4.0 |
| NIT Raipur | 70 (Engineering) | 3- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics | 60 | 3.8 |
Note: To determine the best NIT in terms of quality education and facilities, the overall Shiksha ratings have been considered as a key parameter.
