Yes, with an 81 percentile in JEE Mains, you have a good chance of getting into some NITs, especially those in the northeastern region or less popular branches. However, your category, branch preference, and seat availability will also influence your chances. To increase your chances, utilize college predictors, participate in JoSAA counseling, and consider state-level counseling.

This gives a rank of 169470 in the General category, which is unlikely to give a seat in B.Tech Computer Science in any NIT or IIIT. The closing rank for IIITs usually is below 10,000 for Computer Science programs; some of the institutions are IIIT Gwalior, whose cutoff is at around 11,494. So, other engineering colleges or private institutions can be looked into that would accept higher ranks for admissions.

Some IITs and NITs have offered self-sponsored seat M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and NIT Trichy are some of the prominent institutions that reserve seats for the candidates who are sponsored by their employers. NIT Calicut and NIT Silchar also have self-sponsored admissions. The seats are usually filled through GATE exam but some may not require candidates to take the exam, but they must have work experience in related fields.
