Almost half the number of seats available in a particular NIT are reserved for the home state students. But the sad part is that those seats too are filled according to the reservation policy of the Government of India. But the cut-off ranks for the home state quota seats usually remain lower than the other state quota seats for some NIT, but not all.

Hello Aniket,
Yes there are reservations based on your caste / category. The general category is unreserved while you have reservations for BC, OBC NCL, SC, ST, etc.

Hello Vaibhav,
NITs don't offer aerospace /aeronautical engineering course. Only a few IITs offer aerospace engineering. For that you need to clear JEE Advanced with a good rank.

Hello Aditya,
The basic eligibility in board exams is to have at least 75 % if you belong to general category (OC). If you belong to the other categories like SC, ST and PWD then, you need to have a minimum of 65%.
Only then you can seek admission into any college under JEE.

To get admission in NIT, you must appear in IIT JAM Entrance Exam for mathematics.
