A student is eligible for doing Ph.D. after completion of post graduate degree. However these days almost every university insists on students clearing entrance test for registering students for doctoral research. Hence you need to follow rules of the prospective university where you intend to do Ph.D. Best wishes to you.

Ph.D in English is a 2-year doctorate degree in English, essentially consisting of research work. Upon completion of the course, for procurement of the degree, scholars are needed to submit a detailed thesis. If you fulfill the criteria, then you will be eligible for that course. Eligibility. A Master's Degree / Equivalent in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (with a Bachelor's degree/ equivalent qualification with at least 50 percent marks). Five-year/four-year Integrated Master's Degree in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks. Good luck.
