Candidates must pass a master's degree or equivalent Diploma from a recognised university/ institution with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA/ Grade to apply for PhD at XIME Bangalore. Aspirants with MPhil or master's degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate can also apply provided MPhil admission was via entrance exam.

Students have to meet the IIT Ropar PhD eligibility to get admission in the programme. The basic eligibility is to complete PG degree in relevant field with a minimum aggregate of 60%. A valid entrance score (GATE / CSIR NET/ UGC NET or DBT) followed by personal interview is the required for final selection.
