It's very nice to know your desire. Firstly, you have to decide as to from which university you want to do Ph.D. Secondly, you need to appear for and clear entrance test conducted to select students who can register for Ph.D. Thirdly, you need to get accepted by the guide for this programme. The career after doing Ph.D. in astronomy is that the Indian Institute of Astronomers and several other astronomical institutions offer the job opportunity as Junior Research Scientist after completing the course successfully. Later in future after experience and achievements job opportunities are available with famous government institutes like DRDO and ISRO.
