Although the seats are limited, teaching faculty for Engineering Physics is excellent in the IITs. The placement record for this engineering branch is also good in the IIT Madras. The undergrads from IITs has a package of around 11 Lacs per annum, where the highest being rupees 17 Lacs. Though, the degree of engineering physics has a large pool of opportunities and options apart from the job in big corporates. Many, research organizations are inviting the new talents to carry their research forward and paying high for them. I think placements are not that great for integrated course. You can also send the email to the concerned authorities to get the placements data.

I don't think it's a good decision. According to my point of view, you should opt for Ph.D so that you can get better opportunities after Ph.D in research field as well you can also get good job opportunities in colleges as a professor.

NITs are the premier engineering institutes in India. NIT Calicut is one these NITs and is pretty well known all over India. According to the National Institute ranking framework it stands at 44th rank among all the engineering colleges in India.
For engineering physics out of 12 students who enrolled for placements only 2 were placed. One got a salary of 4.5 LPA and other got a salary of 4.2 LPA making the average salary 4.35 LPA as such. You should know that Engineering physics is mainly a research based branch so placements are ought to be less as compared to other branches.

To become a physics professor in IIT and any other TIER-1 colleges like IITs, 5NITs, DTU, BITS, and IIITH is not an easy task.
You need to have a PhD from country's most reputed college like like IISc Bangalore, IIT-Delhi, Bombay Kanpur. It's all about decorating your profile by doing some really good research papers. If you manage to prove your worth in your research area, and it impresses your Head of the Department; you can get a job as guest faculty. And you get paid for this. Actually, there's a high possibility of you getting chosen as an Asst. Prof of the same IIT from where you've applied for your Doctorate.

Yes. Almost every Non-Tech and coding company allow people from EP to participate in their process and these days they are known to pay the right package to the right talent.
