Diploma Entry is given on the qualification of 10th standard. 12th qualification is only required if you are seeking admission in lateral entry. Since it a government college they must conduct state level entrance exam. Appear for the exam and try to score well.

No, there is no such distance engineering course. AICTE does not recognise such courses and it will not be helpful for career.

Candidate must have passed Diploma/ Graduation from a recognized board/ college/ university.
Or,
Candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board and must have 2 years of working experience.
Or,
Candidate must have secured minimum 60% marks in Fire and Safety 6 months course (only for students studying under Continuing Education Program of Government Polytechnic, Mumbai).

No, it is not possible to directly go for 2nd year in Diploma. In Diploma, class 10th marks is considered. You have to give their entrance exam to apply for the college.
