West Bengal appears to be the only state not insisting on domicile certificate for taking WBJEE. The official announcement has been made and full information is available on its website. However for benefit of students I will state few important facts.The WBJEE will be conducted n 22 Apr 2018. It will be in Pen and Paper mode only. There will be two papers. One for maths and other for Chemistry + Physics. Both papers will be two hours duration. Any citizen of India can appear. He/she should be of minimum age of 17 years. There is no upper limit. Exam will be conducted in 44 cities spread across West Bengal, Assam and Tripura. If one sees this, it's clear that student outside West Bengal can surely appear and get admission in any of the 104 participating institutions across West Bengal.To conclude, I will say that any Indian citizen of 17 years or more can appear for this exam of course with restrictions of marks for general and reserve category students of 45% and 40% respectively along with need to score at least 30% in English.

It's a nice query to ask. Almost students who want to pursue engineering are faced with this issue. But I would advise you not to worry. What needs to be done, one has to simply do it. Having said this, I want to allay your fears. If you are preparing for JEE then you need not prepare separately for WBJEE. Having said this, it does not mean that you can just relax. There are still some things that you must do to score good marks in WBJEE.WB Government has already issued notification for exam that is to be conducted on 22 April 2018. It will have two papers of two hours duration each. Paper 1 will be of maths and Paper 2 will be of Chemistry and Physics. Exam will be conducted only in Pen and Paper mode. These were the mundane statistics. Now I will come to nuances that you must remember or prepare for. Taking mock test every week after few months of study will go a long way in preparing you for exam. Here you will realise difference in the exam pattern. If possible then I would advise you to take some coaching for solving exams. Coaching classes have well developed skills of tricks of how to answer in shortest possible time! This goes a long way in helping students attack max questions which in turn helps in getting more marks.In conclusion, I would advise students that separate preparation is not required for WBJEE if one is studying for JEE also. Only practice of solving mock papers is required to be studied separately.
