Electrical engineering is among the best engineering branches in every term of placement, research and further studies.
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is among the best engineering Institutes of India. Very much placement ratio is seen here at every year in every branch.
Talking about placements of electrical engineering at IIT-Kanpur, the placement ratio is very good and it is around 80 to 90%. The average package is around 5 to 7 LPA.

I would recommend electronics and communication engineering. You will discover all about digital electronics and logic design, electronic circuits, signals and systems, power electronics, applied electromagnetic theory, integrated circuits, VLSI etc. Go for this engineering specialization if you have a strong base (and interest) in calculus and physics (semiconductors, etc.). The telecommunications enterprise and mobile development industry have been advancing by leaps and bounds in the last few years and would offer wonderful opportunities to graduates.
If you have a B.Tech or a similar degree from a good institution, you can expect to earn anything between Rs 4 to Rs 6 LPA. Or if you get into IITs, the package becomes about 12-15 lac per annum As you work your way up in the company and learn implementation, architectural and design level abilities, you could make about Rs 10 LPA.
Some of the main recruiters of Electronic Engineers will be Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Intel, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Toshiba, Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, LG Electronics, Nokia, CISCO, etc.

Civil engineering is one of the old branch so if someone is unable to choose good college then it is difficult to get placed. Christ University and ACED Bangalore are the best college but I think Christ University is the best option for civil engineering. Christ University Bangalore, formerly known as Christ College (Autonomous), is an academic fraternity of individuals Established in 1969. Christ University is famed for having a record of success in the field of education.
The infrastructure and campus is one of the best in the country. In the busy and traffic obsessed city, the campus is very calm.
Teachers are mediocre, at best: Most of the teachers are either too loud or too soft, most of them read and dictate directly from the books. 80% of the teachers are from good college of India and they are friendly with the student which is really important for student.
Fabulous placement records for professional courses in the commerce department. However, more than 90% of students opt out of placements as they either go for higher studies.

Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary branch of science which is favorite among youngsters as it is providing ample opportunities for those who want to explore the new and advanced frontiers of science. It does not refer to a specific industry or job. The applications of Biotechnology is broad as it feeds to various industrial sectors like food, textiles, pharmaceutical, agriculture, animal husbandry and more.
Biotechnology includes several subjects apart from biology making it interdisciplinary. Along with the scientific part and engineering applications, biotechnology is giving rise to various new fields with humongous job opportunities. Being honest, let me tell you, the placements from biotechnology are not that good when compared to other branches. Biotechnology is the future, it is still developing whereas other branches are centuries old and well established. But if you are up for it, go for it.
And IIT Roorkee is one of the best IITs. There is no scope of mediocrity here, the institute invites the best players from the industrial world to get their students placed. Around 76% students get placed from the batch. The average package is about 6 lac per annum. But don't worry, it increases o0nce you in the room. If you are looking for more money, then go for non-core jobs.

Heritage Institute of Technology situated in Kolkata is a private institute taking the students for engineering stream.
Though the college is not so much remarkable and up to the mark when it comes to infrastructure but is improving itself and hence can be considered as okay.
Now, coming to the placement stats, the average placement from here is around 3 to 4 lakh and highest package offered is from Microsoft which is around 16 lakhs.
Although, the above placement data is from CSE, ECE, IT, etc.
Also, frankly speaking, the college do not have a good placement record other than these three branch though, many IT based companies visit for mass recruitment such as TCS, Infosys as well as Wipro.
Also, the faculty members are good, but not up to the level to meet the requirements of industry as well as modern world.
So, in all, the college is good for the core branches only, and should not, be preferred for distance education. Although, students from West Bengal can have it as their last option but for the three mentioned branches.

'Internship' from the perspective of engineering colleges in India primarily is aimed at giving an industry exposure, and involves people taking up trainee positions in companies which deal with the sub-branch of their choice. However, people interested in research usually engage in research projects at IIT's/IISc or universities in the US/Canada/Europe/Australia. By doing this you will know yourself more clearly, where you stand w.r.t the industrial needs and what changes you need in yourself. You will learn to work under mentors/seniors/managers.
