An international student studying in Singapore can work up to 16 hours per week during their studies. During official vacation breaks (like semester holidays), they are allowed to work full-time with no hour limits. This can help you earn some money to cover the expenses.

Not really! While English is widely used in Singapore, knowing Mandarin or Bahasa may be useful for customer-facing roles. However, many part time jobs, especially in hospitality or delivery, prefer the English language, but not mandatory. Always remember, Singapore is a multicultural country.

Singapore is generally considered a safe country for international students due to it's low crime rate. Here are some pointers that Indian students must keep in mind.

  • Set your budget clearly and make a list of accommodation options based on your needs.

  • Choose the right location. Make sure to check the availability of transport options and basic facilities like medical service, food, and groceries, etc.

  • Safety should be the top most priority. Ensure that the accommodation has safety measures and is booked through a trustworthy source.

  • Don't forget to compare the prices! Different online portals may offer different prices.

Students must have valid passes issued by Immigration & Custom Authority (ICA) or Ministry of Manpower (MOM) during their stay and health insurance to cover any health service fee.  However, the eligibility criteria may vary for some universities.
