I will suggest you for petroleum engineering because it has less crowd but in software engineering, you will face a huge crowd. Actually, I am also doing Computer Science engineering. I am observing that it's very tough to get a fine job as well as money because if company have so many options then they will take the least paying person. So, I will suggest you to go for petroleum engineering but select the best college among other college in india like UPES Dehradun, etc.

This is the same question that I too have, according me you do your (UG) in Mechanical engineering (B.Tech) in one of the best colleges in and around India and then, after your degree in (B.Tech), do your (PG) in Robotics and Automation (M.Tech) in India or try to do it abroad countries, and doing Ph.D in Robotics isn't worthy enough and it has no value, if you want to pursue your career in teaching the youu could do your Ph.D in Robotics, otherwise, it's not needed.

You mean, you are currently pursuing software engineering and with that, you want to do something? I suggest you to do some certification course (in the field which you feel comfortable to do).

Hi Augustya,
All universities in USA offer financial aid, and its on merit. You will be automatically considered for scholarship at the time of admission. Since these are on merit you must have a good profile, good grades and apply early. Check university websites, see the deadlines and follow the timelines. It takes a year to prepare for the application process. So prepare early. Some of the best includes
MIT
Georgia Tech
University of Pennsylvania
UCLA
UC Berkeley
University of Princeton
New York University etc.

Hi, focus on your academics and do well. Build your overall profile these two years, take part in extracurricular activities in addition to classroom activities. In short, you must be an all-rounder. If it is too difficult, do extremely well in your studies. If you are interested in Software Engineering, you may build software projects in school and similar activities. As part of the application process, prepare for SAT or ACT. SAT subject tests for top ranking universities. You must also take the TOEFL, however it can be waive.
