Good evening,
If you have done you high school from commerce background, it is always advisable to opt for a Bachelor's degree in commerce like B.Com or BBA. Still, if you are interested in software engineering you may go for it. There is no such restriction.
But, my sincere suggestion is to go for B.Com or BBA.

A software engineer can be a software developer. So, if you are engineer, you can earn better salary. But, often software developer role gives you better salary.

Well, I think the best way would be to go for computer science bifocal course along with PCM (of course Science). Appear for state-CET or JEE and take admission in a good engineering college that provides CSE or IT.
