There is no prerequisite to learn manual testing but an understanding of basics of computer and information technology is good. For manual testing, you also require good domain knowledge such as Finance, healthcare, etc. In order to learn testing automation, you require strong programming expertize in at least one programming and scripting language.

Yes, both are different from each other but CS branch is on top of all other branches of engineering and is a "job giving branch" you can say that.
