Hi,
You need to clear your Bachelors and Masters courses. After that, you need to give UGC NET exam. Ideally, you can become a lecturer at the age of 23 if you clear all the exams in the first attempt.
All the best.

Hi Darwin,
It will depend on what you want to to teach. If you want to teach Chinese in a US school, then you can learn Chinese. Common sense says English is the first language so you must be very good in English not only to become a lecturer but to survive and to get any job in an English speaking country like USA. How many years will depend on your background and experience.

Hi,
You will have to complete your graduation (3 years after 12th) then you will have to pursue Master's degree (2 years after Bachelor's degree). And then you will have to clear UGC NET exam which can take one single attempt or even a lot of attempts so that totally depends on you. But after 12th a minimum of 5 years will be compulsory and then depending on when you clear that exam, you can become a lecturer.
All the best.
