Hi,
In order to become a lecturer in any recognized university in India , one needs to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
1. Must have passed Masters Degree examination from a recognized university in the subject you would like to teach.
2. Must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in the masters degree examination.
3. Must have qualified National Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by University Grant Commission mainly to recruit research assistants and professors in various streams of education.
Qualifying Examination:
The candidates those who have completed their post graduation in related subjects from any recognized university are eligible for applying UGC-NET exam. The candidate must have a minimum of 55%.

Candidates who are applying for pre-primary teacher post should have fifty percent aggregate during their plus two examination. Those who are applying for primary teacher post need fifty five percent aggregate during their graduation or post graduation. Candidates should possess good percentage during their post graduation while applying for Secondary or Higher Secondary teacher post. B.Ed degree or diploma in teaching or education is a must for the candidates who are applying for primary or secondary or higher secondary teacher post. Candidates can pursue B.Ed or diploma course after graduation or post graduation. They also need to qualify the concerned entrance test to pursue B.Ed or diploma course in any recognized Institution.
Skills required for a Teacher
As the teachers plays a crucial role in the overall personality development of the students, good personal and aptitude skills are must for a teacher. They should possess good communication skills to develop a strong bond between the students. Teachers should possess a positive mental attitude while dealing with emergency situations. They need good presentation skills as they are introducing new topics before the students each day. Teacher should have an attitude to learn as much as they can from the available sources.
