Pre Primary Teacher Primary school teachers should preferably be 12th class pass with at least 50% marks aggregate. More than the academic records it is the personal skills and aptitude that is more important. There are a number of vocational training centres which conduct training for pre school teachers. There are Montessori Teacher training schools which give training for pre-school education.

Post graduation and further studies / qualification like M.Phil / PhD and also qualifying through the UGC NET exam are now the requirments to step into the field of college education. I am afraid that you will have to proceed further on this track and simple B.Com. would not be sufficient for a career in this line 'D72409'.

Hi Sumeet,
You need to take Haryana teacher Eligibility Test to apply for PGT Teacher in any government school. This test is conducted in three categories:
- Level 1: who wants to be a primary teacher
- Level 2 : who wants to be a trained graduate teacher
- Level 3 : who wants to be a post graduate teacher

Rules do vary from State to State. I suggest that you should contact the nearest office of the Teachers' Association. If you are a Government Servant, join some Association which you like.Books are also sold which explain the Fundamental Rules.

Minimum Qualifications for direct requirement to the post of Assistant Professor (lecturer) Qualifications for TEACHING POSTS will be as laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and as adopted by the University, from time to time.

Eligibility criteria to become a Teacher:
-Class XII (any subject) followed by training in polytechnics and vocational training centers or Montessori Teacher training schools
-Class XII (any subject) followed by diploma in education or Bachelors in education (B.Ed) Graduates of Home Science also serve as primary teachers
-Class XII (any subject) followed by B.Ed. degree after graduation. These are Trained Graduate Teachers(TGT's) and after Post-graduation are Postgraduate trained teachers(PGTs).This training is imparted in teacher's training colleges.

After BTech a BEd is not a good recipe, with unusual flavor. Go for MTech or try in some engg college, Seat for GATE or UGC NET in your subject. You need to choose some basic elementary papers(like maths, science, his, geo, eco, etc) in BEd you studied at you graduation. but you graduation in engg not studied at schools.
