Hi Priyanka, You are not eligible to appear in UGC NET Eam 2018. The UGC NET Exam is conducted by CBSE on the behalf of UGC for the Assistant professor and junior research fellowship award. The eligibility to apply for the exam is post graduation degree with 55% marks from recognised university. However the last year candidates can also apply for the UGC NET Exam. The maximum age limit for the JRF is 30 years while there is no age limit for the assistant professor posts. You should check the official website to know the detail or you can visit the following blog: https://www.eduncle.com/cbse-ugc-net-exam.

Yes, your distance education will be deemed valid for any further documentation and formal proceedings in your career. Moreover, I would suggest you to once go through UGC NET brochure as you need to match their criteria, eligibility and requirements too. Whereas, in the case of correspondence courses from LPU, your degree is valid everywhere.

You can take the NET only in the subject of your post-graduation. In your case, that would be chemical engineering. Please go to http://www.cbsenet.nic.in and download and read the information bulletin for more information.

You can do a part time Master's courses. If your graduation background is B.Com, you can do a part time M.Com and later on you can apply for UGC.
