As per the NTA guidelines, aspirants who have qualified master's degree or are enrolled in the post-graduation, can apply for the exam. So, to appear for the exam, firstly you have to enroll in LL. M. degree. Before applying for the exam make sure you fulfill other requirements also. To appear for the exam, you have to score at least 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC category or 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST/PwD category in the post-graduation. You can appear for the NET exam after completion of a degree or in the qualifying year. If you want to appear for NET JRF then your age must not exceed 30 years. For LLM aspirants the minimum age limit is 33 years. Or if you want to apply for Assistant Professor then you have no need to fulfill this age criteria.

Candidate's maximum age should not exceed than 28 years as on 1st Jan 2019. For SC/ST /OBC-NCL /PWD/women are provided 5 years of relaxation in age. Candidates of research experience in the same PG degree may get 5 years maximum age relaxation provided they produce a certificate for the same from appropriate authority. Hello, There are two Papers in UGC NET exam I.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all the subject whereas Paper 2 is based on the subject that you choose to appear in the exam. A total of 150 questions asked in the exam (50 from Paper 1 and 100 from Paper 2). Two marks will be awarded for each answer. There will be no negative marking. A relaxation of upto 5 years to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the month of UGC NET session.
