Hello Rajeev, Yes, you have done your M.A. Through IGNOU which is a university formed by an act of parliament. It's degrees are acceptable for all purposes including NET exam conducted by UGC. Best wishes.

Hello, If you want to become a lecturer or researcher, you need to prepare for the UGC NET Exam and score well in the NET Exam. To appear for the NET Exam, you need to complete Masters in a subject with around 55% marks (50% marks for the reserved and the female candidates). The NET Exam is mainly conducted in more than 80 subjects in India including the commerce and management subject. The students completed the Masters can appear in the UGC NET Exam whereas the result awaiting aspirants of final year Master's degree (those have given the Master's degree exam) can appear in the UGC NET Exam. Hello, The aspirants who have completed Masters in Arts with subjects like sociology and other subjects are definitely eligible to become lecturers and researchers. Students with distance or regular degree from a recognised college or university can appear for the UGC NET Exam. The UGC NET Exam eligibility is that you must not be more than 30 years (35 years for women and reserved candidates). The UGC NET Exam is conducted in the month of July and now you can appear for the UGC NET Exam to be conducted in the month of December. The National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET Exam for all those aspirants who are interested in the field of research or teaching.
Recently the exam is conducted from 20th June 2019 to 28th June 2019.
As per the exam pattern of this exam, there was no negative marking in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Those who appeared in this exam will be able to check their result on 15th July 2019.
