The following national level entrance exam results are accepted by Madras University Distance Education (IDE) for admissions-
IIMs administer the Common Admission Test, or CAT.
AIMA administers the Management Aptitude Test (MAT).
CMAT stands for the AICTE's Common Management Admission Test.
XLRI Jamshedpur's Xavier Aptitude Test, or XAT for short.
AIMS Test for Management Admission, or ATMA.
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is known as TANCET.
Madras University IDE accepts valid GMAT results for MBA admission.

The following are the minimal scores usually required to be admitted to Madras University Distance Education (IDE) MBA programs for the 2023 batch:
- The educational prerequisite is a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50% (45% in reserved categories).
- Minimum 70 percentile for CAT/XAT, 65 percentile for CMAT, 55 percentile for MAT, and 65 percentile for ATMA
- TANCET- Minimum cutoff announced following the test
- Work Experience: For the general category, a minimum of two years of work experience is preferred.For reserved categories, one year.New students are welcome to apply as well. Experience is a benefit
