 Yes, UNOM admits candidates in PhD programmes based on merit in entrance-based. Candidates are shortlisted based on scores in the Madras University Entrance Test. These shortlisted candidates become eligible to participate in the personal interview round. The University of Madras also accepts UGC NET/CSIR NET scores. Candidates applying for these entrance exams need not take the university exam and are directly called for the interview round. Further, it is also crucial that each of the candidates meets the course-specific eligibility requirements.

To be eligible for admission in PG Diploma courses in Madras University, aspirants shall have a valid UG Diploma/Bachelor or equivalent degree from UNOM or PG Diploma courses in Madras University, aspirant shall have a valid UG Diploma/Bachelor or equivalent degree from UNOM or from any other university recognised as equivalent thereto.
