Mysore University is a public university located in Mysore. The university is approved by the UGC. Moreover, Mysore University is affiliated with more than 200 institutes. Also, the University is located in Mysuru, the cultural centre of Karnataka and is about 140 kms South West of Bengaluru. Apart from full-time programmes, the university also offers different online and distance programmes.

The University of Mysore offers Post-Matric Scholarships to eligible students. The university has made The Karnataka State Scholarship Portal (SSP) available for the students for this purpose. The scholarships provided by the institute include Social Welfare Department, Tribal Welfare Department, Technical Education Department, Medical Education Department, etc.

Some of the streams are Humanities, Arts, Science, Law, Commerce, IT and Software, Business Management, and Education. The duration of these courses ranges between one to 5 years. The entrance examinations accepted include CMAT, GMAT, MAT, CAT, Karnataka PGCET XAT, etc.

The University of Mysore offers an MBA program with a duration of two years. The admission to the MBA program is based on the candidate's performance in the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) or Common Admission Test (CAT) or Management Aptitude Test (MAT) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or ATMA followed by group discussion and personal interview.
For the academic year 2021-2022, the University of Mysore's MBA program's cutoff based on the KMAT exam for different categories is as follows:
General Category: 48 percentile.
