Hi,
In order to pursue your higher studies in the US after your class 12th, you need to take SAT and TOEFL test. Based on your scores you should short list universities that best suites your profile and choice of course. The best time is the fall session- 2017 (August - September) - usually, the college deadlines are November - December 2016.
Moreover, it is also important to know your father's visa status. Better assessment can only be made once we get to known his visa status.

Since the US requires 4 years Bachelor's degree, so you can either go for a Diploma of one year in India and then apply for Masters or get some work experience to fulfill their age or degree criteria. Few universities might give you the option of taking an extra course of 1-year to complete your Masters if you have sufficient finances.

Admission in Harvard depends on your drive and passion for certain things. While CGPA, work experience, and GRE score matters, they would be also interested in knowing more about your research skills and goals for future. So choose your course first, see their basic requirements and then apply.
All the best.

Well, private are more expensive and more selective. Public universities on the contrary are slightly less competitive and cheaper. Education standards however in both are very high.

Hello Vivek,
MIT is the most prestigious university and ranked No.1 in the world.
It is very very difficult to get into MIT with an average profile.
Admission is not guaranteed even if the GRE score is 340/340.
You need to have at least 85-90% or 9+ CGPA in Bachelor's degree.
Apart from these, previous research works, work experience and Journal publications will be an asset to your profile.
Your SOP's and LOR's should be very strong.
There are two intakes : January and September
For the Application deadlines, check the university website.
All the best.

Hello Nikhil,
The old age electives are primarily marketing, finance, operations, human resources, IT etc.
The new age electives are analytics, entrepreneurship , supply chain management etc.
Some of these derive from the old ones like SCM from operations, analytics from IT and are highly specialized ones.
They focus specifically on a particular area and you would learn quite a lot about it, but chances are you would also learn a lot of garbage that you won't need and since in business everything is connected, you would loose out on other areas,
Most of the B-schools offer specialization in the second year where you need to choose some spec

Opt for the USA.
There are two types of schools in the US: private and state schools. As the name suggests, private schools are very expensive and state schools are cheaper in terms of tuition. Private School : Carnegie Mellon University for MS
Private School : Worcester Polytechnic Institute(WPI), MA
Private School : Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI Graduate tuition

In most of the Ph.D in the US, you automatically go through your MS by completing required courses and earning the MS credits. Then you start your research and defend the thesis thereafter. So it takes longer time as compared to European Ph.D where almost every student has already completed the MS.
