It depends on a lot of factors like which university you are applying to, the desired programme, your financial situation, career plans, etc. You know that your academic background is not too competitive, but a very exceptional personal statement, essays and recommendation letters will push your application. Your IELTS is low for an MS course, in fact, you should take TOEFL. If the course you want to do demands another test like GRE, you have to take it. After you have submitted the application, the university will send you the offer letter, it depends on the university totally. You can then apply for the visa only after you get the offer letter.

If you wish to move abroad for Master's degree then complete your BE with good percentile and focus more on the final 2 years as GTU's last two years of BE are considered i.e. maintain your cgpa above 7.5 and CPI above 7 and if you want to do MS in UsA, just take GRE after coaching till the end of 7th semester and apply to colleges in USA with your marks or else if you want to pursue MBA, get good marks in IELTS and score above 7.5 to get good college and scholarship else if you want to leave your BE right now i.e. after 2 years, it will be completely wastage of 2 years as you need to do Bachelor's degree again. So it's better to complete BE first also keep in mind GTU is too late and lazy in providing marksheets. When you apply to colleges abroad make sure you avail the 7th semester marksheet at least from GTU before taking admission in the USA, otherwise, your admission can be cancelled (happened with my friend when he applied for Australia but thankfully he run for a week daily to GTU and then after getting authorisation from the college, GTU gave him the marksheet.

Preparation tips can be really long and how well you can follow the documented tips will vary from person to person so I will suggest you start with the basics and a mock test of SAT and TOEFL to understand your areas of weakness and strengths. Research firstly on TOEFL and SAT score requirements of various universities. Experts say that the SAT is more in favour of verbally inclined students, so read a lot , learn new words.However this does not indicate the math section is easy so learn short cuts and tricks. Practice is the key. Read textbooks, encyclopaedias, journals and research articles for both TOEFL or SAT.
