There are a couple of things that applicants must avoid when appearing for an F1 visa interview and they are as follows:
- Don't overdress or underdress for the interview.
- Don't fidget too much or look nervous in front of the interviewer.
- Be specific with your answers and do not over explain anything, unless asked.
- Be confident about your choice of course or university and country.
- Avoid overstating or boasting about your finances. Stick to whatever you have mentioned in your applications.
- Avoid any type of clashes or arguments with the interviewer.
By avoiding these pointers, you can ace your F1 visa interview.

It can be either a part-time on or off campus job, research opportunities, etc. On the other hand, OPT is Optional Practical Training can be either taken up during or after graduation. With an OPT, international students can get only 12 months of employment. Those who wish to work for a longer duration will need an H1-B visa.

CPT full form is Curricular Practical Training. Whereas, OPT stands for Optional Practical Training. You can apply for both of these simultaneously. However, it should be noted that the CPT can be authorized only until the last day of the final quarter.
