Well Hari, usually it's between 0.9Lacs-1.2Lacs per annum (current trend in india). I'm quoting real salaries from experience and not hypothetical salaries that most people quote. This is what a Roto artist (usually the first job for a VFX person) gets. You could later grow into higher salaries if you're good at compositing or 3D affects. Wish you the best for your career. Remember, your Career is a resultant of your knowledge combined with your passion and expression ability. If you like this answer you may select it as best answer or press like

Animator's average salary is better than the average salary of vfx artist. The main reason is that the preparation to become an animator is long and tough, so only few people are able to become really good. Even average animator is better paid than an average vfx artist. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these car

Prakriti, I would recommend that if you are the best student in your city, take any of these fields and you'd be successful. This is the theory of relativity, the course is just as good as you are. Find out your real interest and follow it. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people.
