In VIT Vellore offers internships and placements as campus placements, where all the renowned companies offer an average package more than 5 lacs PA. But this is only in the case with CS IT, EEE, MCA etc. Not in the case of Biomedical or Biotechnology. Very few biomedical core companies come for campus placements that too not every year.

The closing rank for students in the General Category was 14,000 when the 2021 cutoff for this course was made public in the month of August. Both Thapar and VIT are excellent, however, From my point of view Thapar is better than VIT in terms of placements, faculty support, and infrastructure. The average MBA salary is 7.0 lacs per year, and the maximum MBA salary is 21.35 lacs per year. There are 77 different employers who are hiring Thapar students. Microsoft, Walmart, DE Shaw & Co. , Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Adobe, IBM, NVIDIA, Samsung, YAHOO, NHAI, Vedanta, JSW Steel Ltd. , Indian Oil, BOSCH, and other well-known employers are among its major recruiters.

See VIT admissions are divided into 2 phases
Phase 1 :rank 1 to 20k
Phase 2:rank 20k to 100k
If you have rank under 20k you are 80% sure of getting any branch .
But with donation that is phase 2 fees which is quite higher than phase 1 fees you can get other branches.
last year all the students who secured a rank below 1 lakh were called for the counselling.
Cs & IT usually fill fast and for rank above 50k would be available in cat. 4/5 whose fees is quite higher
Conclusion Cs IT difficult to get
Chances of getting are in cat. 4/5 that too in Chennai campus
If opting other branches then chances increase to a good no.

If you've studied well for boards, then of course you can get a good rank in VITEEE. Otherwise, chances are less. Few tips -
- If you're in CBSE, focus only on class 12th topics. Very less topics are from 11th like equilibrium, etc.
- Follow the brochure and prepare accordingly.
- If your preparation for boards was good, then it won't take much effort.
- VITEEE has no negative marking, hence attempt all questions. Keep a margin of 5-10 min just for attempting the questions whose answers you don't know.
- Solve your strong subject first and the weakest subject in the end.
All the best. VITEEE is one of the easiest entrances in engineering.

I think the safe score would be below 5500 rank to get a seat in Vit.

At this percentile it would be very hard to get any NIT if you belong to general categary. You can try for vit vellore it could be a chance to get it . best wishes to you.
