You will be called for the phase 2 counselling. It means that you can have a seat but with a higher fee (may be category 2 or 3).
Phase 1 counselling is for those who get ranks between 1 and 20000.
So, you can get almost all the branches as you will be called at the earliest.
You can block the course which you are interested in but the admission and the course you prefer depends on the no. of seats filled and rankings.
As those who got ranks between 1-100000 are called for VIT counselling, there are good chances for you to get admission. If you don't get VIT-Vellore, you can surely get at VIT-Chennai, Bhopal or Amravati.

As per your rank, you have branch options like EEE, civil, production, chemical and mechanical. For more insights, you must attend the counseling. You may get good branches in the 3rd or 4th category.

VIT would be calling students with ranks up to 20K in first round. If there are seats available, then the other students will be called. With rank of 86K, I feel you have only slim chances of getting admission.

As per your rank, VIT may call you for counselling as it has 2 new campuses from this year but attending the counselling is a waste of time as you will not get any branch in any of the campuses.

As per your rank, you will get top branches in VIT-Vellore and as far as counselling money is concerned, it is refundable.

To be frank, there is no chance. If you applied for any other college, you can try but you can't get VIT. After the results page in your profile, if you get a counselling date, then you just attend it. If you can get through the management quota, go for it.

According to the cut-off released this year, only those students are called for counseling whose rank is less than 20000 on 10th May. So, it seems to be not possible as your rank is 30000 so just wait and see if they call you. You must try in other institutions as well.
