The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) conducts the Madhyamik (Class 10) exam, which is most similar in pattern and syllabus to other state board Class 10 exams in India. Exams like the SEBA (Assam Board), BSE Odisha, Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), and Bihar Board (BSEB) follow a similar structure—subject divisions, marks distribution, and exam duration. These boards also emphasize regional languages, basic sciences, and social studies with an approach close to WBBSE. While CBSE and ICSE are national boards with more analytical and English-medium focus, the closest matches to WBBSE in terms of content and examination

In WBBSE Madhyamik (Class 10), students appear for 7 subjects, and each problem is normally marked out of one hundred. However, the whole marks become 800 because of a specific problem having papers.
Here's the breakdown:
First Language – 100 marks
Second Language – a hundred marks
Mathematics – a hundred marks
Physical Science – a hundred marks
Life Science – a hundred marks
History – a hundred marks
Geography – 100 marks
Optional Elective Subject – a hundred marks

It is different for everyone since everyone has their speed. It also depends on the paper- if it's lengthy or not. There is a Cool-off time of 15 minutes in addition to the writing time. Use the 'Cool-off time' to get familiar with questions and to plan your answers. Read questions carefully before answering. Read the instructions carefully and you can analyze your entire question paper, no matter which subject it is, and mentally set time for each section. Since there are MCQs too, you can solve them in the 15-minute cool-off time and thus save a lot of time.

Yes, it is highly likely that you will get about 30-40 % questions from the previous years. The quesions will not completely be same as given in the previous years' question papers, but the concept will be same. The type of questions coming in WBBSE board exams is same. The board follows the same pattern.
The previous years' question papers will also help you clarify the concepts.
