Generally speaking, a high SAT or ACT score is needed for admission to any Ivy League school. If your score on the SAT is 1590 or higher, or your score on the ACT is 35 or higher, then you are in the top 25 percent of students who apply to those schools.

These are some of the most prestigious universities around since you are in the first year you have some time to build your profile, work hard towards excellent academics and extracurricular activities. Depending on what your subject is, you must build projects, publications, etc., around it. Tests like GRE, etc., must be taken. Excellent recommendation letters will give weightage. Scholarships are on merit, the stronger your profile, better are the chances. But note that full scholarship is rare.

Hi Sandip, apart from having a very good academic record, you have to take the GRE and TOEFL and have a very strong all-rounded profile. These are some of the top ranked universities and very difficult to get into. There is no single way to get admission.

Yale is an Ivy League university and hence you must have an excellent all-rounder profile. As part of the application process you must take the SAT and TOEFL. Apart from these tests you must not only have excellent academic grades but also have extracurricular activities, they want students who can contribute to the university and the society and not boring students or just bookworms. What are you pursuing right now? There are very few organizations which offer scholarships for Undergraduate education. You can apply for scholarships/financial aid directly to these universities or you can apply to Next Genius Scholarship Program or Tata Cornell Scholarship for Cornell University.
