For general category the rank required to get into DTU is top 25000.
The top 3000 rank holders will get computer science engineering.
Top 8000-10000 will get electronics and communication engineering.

It depends on the branch of your interest. However, ECE is an ever green branch with good placements and better scope for higher studies. Not saying that civil isn't good but ECE is better.

8 years ago I got 116 marks in JEE Mains and 92.4% in CBSE boards 2016. Is there any chance for me to get NIT, NSIT or DTU with a good branch?

The closing rank for general category student for software engineering in 2016 was 10941 in JEE Mains.
This rank for software engineering was before spot round.

Hostel facility is awesome in DTU.
I myself will try to get hostel in my second year.
Mess food quality is good. You will get food 4 times in mess.
