No, DTU does not conduct any entrance exam of its own for admission to any of the UG, PG or doctoral-level courses. Admission for the flagship BTech programme is based on JEE Main scores and the entire process of counselling are conducted by JAC Delhi. Further, DTU admission to all the remaining courses is mostly based on national/ university-level entrance exams, such as UCEED,  GATE,  CAT,  MAT and CMAT, among others. However, there are a few MBA specialised courses and BBA, admission to which is offered based on the past qualifying exam  (UG level) followed by an interview round. 

If we talk about the reviews, DTU is better than NSIT. Students have shown great interest in the DTU placements and quality of education over the years. Whereas, NSIT is also gaining popularity among the students. Which is better or best depends on the student's preference. 

DTU is indeed a great college for engineering, specially B.Tech. Since it takes students through JEE Mains, the quality of students is also very good.

Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.

The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.

DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.

DTU is one of the top universities of India with BTech as its flagship course. As per NIRF 2025 Rankings, DTU has been ranked 30 under the 'Engineering' category. IITs like IIT Ropar, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Jammu are ranked below DTU. So, it is safe to say that DTU is better than second-phase IITs as per NIRF rankings.

A. The application process for all the courses offered via DTU is completely online. Candidates seeking admission must apply via the following websites:

• For BTech, students can apply via the JAC Delhi website, i.e. jacdelhi.nic.in. Registration via JAC Delhi is a  two-step online process where students have to fill out the online application form and then make the payment of the application fee. • For BDes, MTech, MDes, MSc, MBA (BA/ FBE/ EIVD), E-MBA, BA, BBA and PhD, candidates must apply via the official website of DTU
• For MBA via DSM and USME, candidates are required to apply via CMAC. Incomplete applications are liable to cancellation. 

Step 1: Visit the official website and register.

Step 2: Fill in the complete application form and upload the photograph as per the instructions available in the form. 

Step 3: Pay the application fee and submit the form. 

Step 4: All candidates must take a printout of the completed form after fee payment since it needs to be carried out during the final admission round. This printed form should be affixed with the same photograph which was uploaded in the online application form. 

The highest and average recorded for MBA DSM course in 2025 was 16.42 LPA and 7.74 LPA. 53 offers were made and 143 students registered in 2025. For MBA USME, highest and average package in 2025 was 22 LPA and 7.55 LPA. 52 offers were made this year.

The highest international and domestic package recorded during DTU placements 2025 was INR 180 LPA and 85 LPA. Average package recorded was 15.75 LPA.

Candidates who cancel the enrolment after paying the tuition fee before the semester has started. In that case, DTU will refund the tuition fee. Further, if candidate withdrawl their enrolment after paying the tuition fee, and the semester has started. In that case, DTU will not refund the tuition fee except in cases of exceptional unforeseen circumstances mentioned below:

• failure to meet the admission requirements
• lack of residence permit, e.g., if SIRI rejects your application for a residence permit
• pregnancy

Each case will be treated individually. The candidate who belongs to these case are required to submit written documentation before reimbursement can take place. When applying for a refund, candidates are required to enter full name, CPR (if relevant), reasons, and documentation for cancelling your studies. Candidates must also provide their relevant bank details (account number, SWIFT/IBAN codes) for this purpose.

Yes, Delhi Technological University offers a two-year M.Tech programme in full-time along with a three-year M.Tech programme in part-time mode. The programme is offered across 25 specialisations and is offered through 11 departments, namely Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering, among others. The total tuition fee for the full-time BTech programme ranges between INR 4.1 lakh and INR 8 lakh. Aspirants are also required to pay a registration cum counselling fee of INR 1,500 on the official website of JAC Delhi. 

At the UG level, Delhi Technological University also offers a four-year BDes programme in Design. Interested candidates can apply online on the official admission portal of DTU.
