Honestly many of the rumors about Lovely Professional University come from outdated perceptions. What matters today is the learning environment and outcomes. LPU's CSE programme focuses heavily on coding practice, live projects, hackathons, internships, and industry tools like AI, cloud, and data science. This practical exposure helps students build strong technical skills during the course itself.

Placements are one of the biggest reasons many students choose LPU. The university attracts a large number of recruiters every year and CSE usually sees the most opportunities. Students who actively participate in coding competitions, interns

Yes, students from an AET vocational course may be able to apply for Automobile Engineering at Lovely Professional University, but eligibility depends on the subjects studied and the marks obtained in 10+2. For B.Tech Automobile Engineering, the usual requirement is around 60% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English or an equivalent qualification.

If the vocational course includes relevant technical subjects and meets the eligibility criteria, admission may be possible. In many cases, students also need to appear for LPUNEST or provide another accepted entrance exam score for admission or scholarship consideration. Final co

Mechanical Engineering generally has wider scope than Automobile Engineering at LPU because it covers a broader range of industries such as manufacturing, energy, robotics, thermal systems and even automotive. The core curriculum supports careers in design, production, maintenance and R&D across multiple sectors, which helps students stay flexible in job choices. Automobile Engineering is more focused on vehicles, engines and automotive systems, so opportunities are largely confined to the auto and allied industries. In the current LPU structure, Mechanical Engineering offers stronger multi‑industry placement exposure and more option

The automobile market in India is also booming at a high pace. You can opt for a BTech in Automobile Engineering in India's top colleges like IIT Delhi, DTU, NIT, SIMATS, etc.

One more thing, the competition in the Automobile field is still less compared to others.

And if you want to go abroad. Germany is a top-tier destination for the Automobile industry.

The final decision is yours. But, yes! Automobile Engineering is definitely worth pursuing in India.

No, you don't, to be honest. The curriculum will teach all the basics and required knowledge about the field. With all the project work, seminars, internships, etc., you'll gain the skills needed in the Automobile Engineering line.

Some abilities, however, are a plus if you have them beforehand.

  • Technical proficiency
  • Practical curiosity about machines
  • CAD software skills
  • Good mechanics and Physics

The difference is simple. Mechanical Engineering is a core Engineering branch with a career scope in multiple industries. Automobile Engineering is more of a niche branch that is focused on the Automobile industry.

Hence, the career scope and knowledge in Automobile Engineering are limited.

You'll get all the base components of research, design, manufacturing, and testing of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery in Mechanical Engineering. Automobile Engineering gives the know-how of vehicle design, manufacturing, engine testing, upgradation, and overall maintenance and fuel management of vehicles, especially cars.
