Hi.
Dental anatomy is one of the first basic subjects in BDS and forms the foundation for later clinical work. Topics include:
Structure of teeth: Types (incisors, canines, premolars, molars), morphology, surfaces, and features.
Tooth development (Odontogenesis): Stages of tooth formation, enamel, dentin, pulp development.
Occlusion and dentition: Normal bite patterns, tooth alignment, primary and permanent dentition.
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) anatomy: Muscles, bones, ligaments involved in jaw movement.
Oral cavity anatomy: Hard and soft tissues surrounding teeth, periodontal structures.

Hi.
BDS seats are very limited in government colleges across India.
For General category, cut-offs in government colleges are generally very high:
Top government colleges (like Maulana Azad, Delhi, Mumbai, etc.) usually require NEET scores ≥ 600–650.
Mid-tier state government colleges cut-offs: 450–550 (may vary by state and category).
370 is unlikely to secure a BDS seat in any government college for General category.
However, private dental colleges or Deemed Universities may have seats available at your score.

It depends heavily on the state, quota (government / management / private / NRI), branch (clinical vs non-clinical), and whether the college is fully government, semi-government, private, or “self-financing.” What I can do is show you typical ranges from recent data, and what you should check when you assess a semi-govt or government-aided dental college's MDS fees.

No, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College does not offer direct admission into BDS courses. Students who wish to take admission must appear for NEET UG. They must present NEET UG marks while applying for the course. To get admission, visit the official website of the university and apply for the course.

Yes, simulation labs are increasingly incorporated in BDS training. These labs allow students to practice dental procedures in a controlled environment before working on real patients.
Simulation includes using dental mannequins, virtual reality systems, and digital tools to replicate clinical scenarios. This helps students refine hand skills, improve accuracy, and develop decision-making abilities, reducing errors and enhancing patient safety once they transition to clinical practice.
