JIPMER was established in 1823. It ranks 4 under the Medical Category by NIRF 2025. It is an Institute of National Importance. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research was declared autonomous by the parliament act under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The Institute provides quality research and teaching facility along-with good patient care in the field of Medicine. The institute has another campus located in Karaikkal.

The Institute offers MBBS course at UG level and MD / MS at PG level. It also offers DM / MCh at super-speciality level. PhD and Fellowship courses are also provided by the Institute. Q: What is the eligibility criteria for B.Sc Nursing at JIPMER Puducherry?

For admission to JIPMER BSc in Nursing course, aspirants must be Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology, and English as one of the subjects. The qualifying exam should have been passed with at least 50% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ST/OBC; 45% aggregate for PwD category candidates). Moreover, the applicants age at the time of admission should be at least 17 years, or candidate must turn 17 on or before December 31 of the year of admission. There is not upper age limit.
