The criteria in NIT is very high. You are not eligible for your graduation in NIT but you definitely try in other government college they also give you best education and placement.

Hello Siddharth, if I may say so it's quite difficult to get admission under ST quota with category rank of around 9000 since total reserved seats under this category in all NIT'S put together is about 3750. In view of this, you can ask her to take a break of one year and prepare exclusively for this exam and then seek admission in next academic session. Best wishes to you.

Vanaja, unfortunately seeing your percentile and also after being a reserved category student you cannot get a NIT since, the SC student need atleast 60+ percentile in the JEE Mains last year. And following the trend your chances of getting a NIT is almost zero. So, I suggest you try next year and get your dream college. Hoping for your brighter future. Hope your query is resolved. Best of luck.

Unfortunately mahi you might not get IT branch (a very high demanding branch) in any IIIT since you are from general category and your percentile is below 90 so, there is hardly any chance for you to get any IIIT. Work hard and try next year. Best of luck for your future.

If you appear in CSAB Special Rounds, then you also have high chances of getting CSE Branch in Top NITs. So with this rank, You have very high chances of getting all top branches like CSE, ECE or EEE in top NITs and IIITs. Good Luck for your Counselling!

Greetings Kavita, I'm assuming by 79% you mean 79 percentile. If you're from general category then simply you can't even make it to the cutoff. And even if you have reservations advantage then too even if you make it to the JoSAA counselling then too with your percentile you won't get mech. Engineering in any NIT.

If you want B.Tech in top NITs ( like top 10), a rank of at least 5000 to be safe).
99.5 percentile (1,000,000 candidates considered ): This is applicable for core branches in NITs (top 10), a rank of at least 15000 to be safe.
98.5 percentile: If you want any branch in any NIT, a rank of atleast 40000 to be safe.
96 percentile: What minimum marks one should achieve to get NIT? Whatever marks get you 96 percentile, 110 - 120 out of 300.

Hello Aaradhya Singh, there are approximately 25 thousand seats spread across all NIT's. Considering that those who score better will do better in other exams including JEE Advanced students with even lesser ranking than yours will get admission. However, I would like to urge you to wait till May of this year. By then NTA will announce actual results and you need not keep guessing as to your rank. At that time, you can download the college predictor released in the market by different agencies and it will guess for you the probable branch and college. Best wishes to you.

Since you are from a reserved category with 80+ percentile you can easily get any good NIT'S like, Goa, hamirpur, NIT trichy etc. Whether old NIT'S or new NIT'S with your preference of branch being core (civil or mechanical ), you can definitely get admission in any course. Hope your query is resolved. Best of luck for your future.

From what I assume with information provided by you is that you are from reserved category and your rank is below 1 Lacs. So, you might not get top ranking NIT's but there is a chance that you might get the core branches (except CSE, IT, Software etc. ). In the Newer NIT's, since they accept ranking above 70k+ for the reserved category. Hope your query is resolved. Best of luck for your future.

Hello Garima Agrawal, let me give you information. In all NIT'S put together, there are only 25000 seats. So, you can guess for yourself chances of your daughter. However, do not get worried. Now in current cycle of admission, she can once again appear for birth sessions of JEE Mains examination being conducted by NTA and should score ranking well within 25000 to get branch and NIT of her choice. Best wishes to you.

Hi, just want to let you know that 78 percentile is actually not bad for AJEE rank. You will manage to secure a seat in an engineering college (probably not CS or IT) but in another stream for sure.

Hello Revanth Kumar, let me inform you that out of total seats of 25K in all NIT's put together, reserved seats for ST's would be about 2000. Your ranking under this catagory is 15K and hence you can guess your chances. To help you further, I am attaching a link that will predict college for you depending on your ranking. https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/jee-main-college-predictor

From analysing your rank and I assume that you are from general category, so you make might not get IIT's, NIT's or IIIT's but you can definitely go for got NIRF ranking private college since placements in these colleges is pretty decent these days and if you are lucky then you might get a core branch ( E. C. E, E. E, Civil, Mechanical, etc. ) in a good government college as well. Best of luck for your future. Hope your query is resolved.

At your rank, you won't get any NIT. Actually the thing is JoSAA colleges don't have that many seats reserved for Gen-EWS candidates so unless you don't make it under 5000 general EWS rank, you won't get any significant advantage.

There has to be some mistake else it's not possible to have a mere 46.7percentile at 138 marks. If you have really got 138 marks then for sure you'll get a NIT. But if your actual score is 46 percentile then you won't get any NIT or IIIT. And please recheck your marks you may have had make some blunder while calculating your marks, else on an easy note your percentile should be around 95-96 if your score was 138.
